This course examines how to manage human resources in educational context for the enhancement of teacher wellbeing and performance, and overall school and effectiveness. The course content covers important aspects of human resource functions which includes human resource planning, development and environment conceptions and theoretical underpinnings. Issues, policies, practices and scholarly work in the human resource management from the local and international perspectives are examined to provide broad exploration of the topics.

This course discusses the nature and essential theories of educational leadership. It emphasizes on the leadership styles and leaders, emotional intelligence, leadership competencies and Islamic leadership at the school level. Various functions processes of an educational leader in decision-making, motivation, communication, organizational change, managing anger and stress will also be emphasized. Students are required to describes each of the leadership style and their characteristic, functions of an emotional response, understanding ones emotional strengths and weaknesses along with profile of leaders from all walks of life related to power influence and essential leadership qualities of principals. The new paradigm for educational leadership will also be discussed
K243 SGDP6133 KUMP B Quantitative Data Analysis in Education
The course is designed to introduce graduate students to the application of statistical techniques to research in education. The development of skills in interpreting statistical concepts is emphasized whereby students will develop an understanding of statistical logic and procedures. In addition, students will get hands-on experience with SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) Windows. SPSS is a powerful statistical application package that is particularly useful for the analysis of questionnaire data. It can be used in the analysis of data from various disciplines.

K243 SGDP6033 KUMP C QUALITATIVE RESEARCH IN EDUCATION
The course aims to introduce students to qualitative studies in education and the social sciences that can produce vivid and richly detailed accounts of human experience. The research approaches to be addressed in this course are naturalistic participation, case studies, narrative reports, grounded theory studies, and phenomenological studies. The important steps in planning a qualitative research project, such as problem identification, formulation of research objectives and questions, planning for the inductive process of data collection and analysis, and triangulation of data are some of the major key components of qualitative research that will be focused thoroughly in this course.
