A243 BSMH5063 KUMP A WORKFORCE DIVERSITY MANAGEMENT
Malaysia is a multicultural country with a vibrant blend of Malay culture, Chinese culture, Indian culture, Eurasian culture, and indigenous groups' cultures from the Peninsular and North Borneo. Furthermore, foreign nationals are increasingly populating the Malaysian labour force. Hence, workforce diversity is expected to increase in the coming decades. As such, organizational leaders are now faced with the challenge of effectively managing a workforce that is increasingly diverse in terms of race, ethnicity, gender, physical ability, sexual preference, and age. This challenge implicitly acknowledges that the best, brightest, and most qualified workers come from a variety of cultural backgrounds or group identities. It stands to reason that individuals and organizations that truly welcome and value the talents and perspectives of employees from diverse backgrounds will have a competitive advantage over those who do not.
