This course covers the theory and practice of systems analysis and design. The complete analysis life cycle is covered in lectures and practiced in assignments. Output from the systems analysis will be used to illustrate the main stages of systems design. Extensive use of case studies will be made to facilitate the application of the techniques learnt. Computer Assisted Software Engineering tool will be used to support the analysis and design tasks. Specifically the following areas are covered: Strategic project selection, specification, detailed process and data analysis, determining the requirements of the proposed system, human computer boundary and interface design, process design, verification and implementation of computer systems.
