The aims of this course are to expose students to the quality management and quality management tools, and emphasize the impact of data management to reduce uncertainties.

This course will discuss the relationship between products and quality management systems. The evolution of the quality management in details with four categories QMS that frequently used in discussion. It is involved with establishing and maintaining a QMS as procedures and other issues such as quality award that are important for continuos improvement.

This course provides an understanding and exposure to the field of statistics which are divided into two main components: descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics technique involves sorting, summarizing and presenting data. Inferential statistics related to technical analyze, interpret, infer and measure the reliability of a population-based sample data.

This course aims to introduce quantitative tools and techniques which is relevant to assist decision making and problem solving in the business world. It emphasizes on understanding and utilization of various management science models. The benefits derived from using those models will also be discussed. Specific topics of discussion include transportation model, linear programming, decision teory, waiting line model and simulation.

This course provides an introductory overview of the various materials and techniques used in construction. More focus is placed on the main construction materials and building construction techniques. This course also provided students the needed knowledge about construction organisations, building elements and construction techniques, construction temporary works as well as construction machineries. Civil engineering construction is briefly introduced as well. Furthermore, current issues related to the construction industry are discussed which could expose the students to potential business and entrepreneurship opportunities within the industry.

This course discusses and explains the problems of environmental pollution and explain the principles of environmental management. In addition to the importance and methods of assessment and environmental audits are also discussed.

At the end of this course, students will be able to:
• Identify the important elements in the environment.
• Identify sources of pollution of water, air and soil, and to determine ways to reduce their impact on the environment.
• Identify solid and hazardous waste management and technologies involved in reducing the risk to the environment.

This course is a continuation of the course Construction Technology (BJTC 2023). This course discusses in-depth technology within the context of construction materials, methods and equipment. Emphasis will be given to construction nationwide involving concrete and asphalt. Innovation and advanced construction methods, especially in building construction awarded. Method of construction of civil engineering structures such as roads, bridges, tunnels and dams will be also discussed. Attention is also given to the aspects of testing and quality control, damage and repairs and maintenance.

This course is aimed at transferring knowledge and skills in construction project planning which covers time /schedule planning, planning cash flows and resources allocation. It provides preliminary exposure and adequate preparation for students who have interests in becoming project managers/construction project managers. It exposes students to the techniques of project planning using the Critical Path Method and Line of Balance. Students will also be required to submit a final project utilizing a current planning software.
