This course aims to give students an understanding of the basic concepts of media technology. Students will be exposed to basic concepts and issues in media technology as it will guide them throughout the learning processes in the programme related to advertising, broadcasting, journalism, and publications. At the end of this course, students will be equipped with basic knowledge and skills that cover a wide variety of media that would enable students to venture into various fields related to mass communication and media technology.

This course is designed to provide a foundation for students about the history, concepts, principles, and practices of visual design. Students will be exposed to design elements and principles, typography, design process, visualization and colour, composition and proportional system and grid. They will also learn to apply the knowledge to design for different mediums offline and online.

This course is a combination of lecture, coursework (involving reading material), writing and examination from the given assignments. Guidance on media writing skill for printed media and electronic media will be provided. Students are compulsory to submit a complete writing portfolio.

This course discusses the techniques of news writing and gathering material to write various types of news. News writing is the fundamental element that needs to be understood by students enrolled in courses related to print and broadcast journalism. This course covers aspects of understanding the news, get news, headline writing, writing process leads and conduct interviews. Students will also be exposed to the techniques of news writing. In addition, students will be exposed to an effective editorial writing, editing and providing news pulley

This course examines how we come to know ourselves and our world, and to desire, hate, judge, and act, through the simulative "mediation" of mass communication. The aim is to provide students with greater understanding of the highly commodities symbolic environment that surrounds them and to which they continually respond and react as audience. Although the focus is psychological, the history, sociology, political, economy, and technology of the mass media will be discussed to examine their influence on thoughts and behaviour.

This course aims to give students advanced knowledge about another aspect of advertising which is interactive advertising. The course is focused on advertising on the internet and mobile networks. The students will be exposed to new technologies, creative strategy, and how advertising on the internet can be implemented. In addition students are also exposed to other forms of interactive advertising other than advertising on the Internet.

This course aims to develop artistic and technical knowledge of television production, single-camera production (SCP) and multi-camera production (MCP), which includes stages of preproduction, production and post-production with emphasis on the role that should be played by a director.

This course aims at both BSc Computer Science students and students from range of backgrounds who want to find out more about interaction design, technology and its contribution to the digital economy. The scope is broader than human-computer interaction (HCI) in terms of issues, topics and methods. It includes how cognitive, social and affective issues apply to interaction design; and how to gather, analyze and present data for interaction design. Students will be exposed to design thinking and visual doing to practice design and evaluation for usable products, systems and services. The content and activities are curated based on design thinking pedagogy which is a human-centered problem-solving approach to enhance students' creativity and innovation.
