This course is designed to give basic understanding and exposure to the student on the company law in Malaysia. The course starts with introduction to company law as well as key elements distinguishing different types of business organizations. The law on partnership and various types of companies will also be discussed. The course will later on discuss pre incorporation contract, the procedures to incorporate a company and the effects of incorporation. It will also touch on companys constitution, shares, dividend and loans. The course will also cover membership, meetings and responsibilities of director, auditor, companys secretary and dissolution of company. Throughout the course, students will be exposed to the statutory provisions of the Companies Act 2016 and supporting case laws.

Kursus Undang-undang perbankan meliputi sejarah undang-undang bertulis perbankan, perniagaan perbankan, jenis-jenis pemegang akaun dan hubungan antara bank dan pelanggan dari sudut undang-undang. Di samping itu, akan dikaji juga hal-hal berkaitan kerahsiaan bank, urusan perbankan melalui eletronik, sekuriti-sekuriti bank, kecuaian bank dan perundangan berkenaan instrumen boleh niaga serta cek. Akhir sekali akan dilihat perundangan yang membabitkan perbankan Islam.

This course is designed to expose students with basic knowledge and understanding with regard to law of management technology. Law of management technology is a combination of several laws The focus of the course begins with the introduction of contract law which is the basis of business and commerce. It will also cover the electronic commerce contract. In addition, the course also touch the legal aspects of the company which includes the types of business organizations in Malaysia. Subsequently, this course focuses on aspects of cyber law, electronic privacy, intellectual property and alternative dispute resolution (ADR). Discussion on each scope of law will produce students who are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge of the fundamental principles of law of management technology and assist them to analyse relevant court cases and practice this knowledge in their daily life.

This course will discuss the scope and the characteristics of Islamic law. The discussion will cover the primary sources of Islamic law which are the Holy Quran, Sunnah/Hadith, Ijma and Qiyas. It will also discuss the secondary sources of Islamic law including Ijtihad, Istihsan, Masalih Mursalah, Sadd al-Zarai, Urf, Qaul Sahabi, Syar Man Qabluna, Istishab and Amal Ahl Madinah. In addition, this course will also discuss about maqasid as-Shariah or objective of the Shariah. The course will further discuss the formation of schools of thought in Islam and the Islamic legal maxims (Qawaid Fiqhiyyah) used by the Fuqaha (Islamic Scholars) in Islamic law. Finally, this course will look at the development of Islamic law in the modern period including the development of the law in Malaysia.

Generally, the law of tort is concerned with prevention of losses and injuries that may occur in the society such as: injury to person, property, reputation and others. The course begins with introduction to the law of tort, scope, functions, aims and its necessity to the society as a whole. The main focus of this course is intentional torts that comprise of trespass to person, interference with goods and trespass to land. Furthermore, defences and remedies available in tort will also be discussed. The syllabus also addresses the topic of nuisance and its concept and concludes with a discussion on the topic of strict liability.

Land law plays an important role which is in tandem with modern development, particularly in preserving and protecting the right of the proprietor of land to maintain and preserve his/her rights. This course will expose and acquaint students with the land law concept as applied in Malaysia and under the Torrens system. It also discusses the rights and powers of the State Authority in disposal and forfeiture of land, alienation, leasing and tenancy. This subject will also deal with the rights of the proprietor of land, registration of property, the indefeasibility of title and its exceptions. Through this course, students will acquire the requisite knowledge on the exclusive use and enjoyment, which entails ownership in the property of the land.

The course is designed to introduce students to the development of equity and its application to the law of trust. It begins with an introduction to the concept of equity, which is the foundation in the formation of a trust. In a whole, the course also addresses the general equitable maxims, equitable remedies, formation of trust, types of trust etc.
