This course involves an analysis of the principles of company law in Malaysia and their application and generally aims at a wider context and greater depth than is possible in a first-degree course. As good governance has become a key element in our present corporate entity's administration, this course will introduce the concept of corporate governance, its application, and its practice. Topics like corporate personality contrasted with unincorporated associations; lifting the veil of incorporation; corporate theory; limitations on the ability of companies to enter contracts and engage in other transactions; promoters' duties and pre-incorporation contracts; the corporate constitution - the articles of association as a contract; the organs of the company; class rights; the raising, maintenance, and re-organization of share capital; directors' duties; minority shareholders' remedies; and liquidation will be discussed.

The course exposes students to legal research projects. The student will choose a specific area of law related to their specialisation. The project paper covers the process of conducting a case study, which includes the techniques of data collection and case study writing.

The course aims at providing a comprehensive understanding of the diverse research methods used in the Social Sciences in general, and in management in particular. It also aims at sharing the required skills for choosing and implementing those methods. The respective uses and usefulness of the main research methods will be discussed, as well as and their relevance for the study of contemporary Social Science and management research issues. Research methods with emphasis on the nature of research, problem identification and formulation, methods of observation and data collection, analysis and interpretation, research communications, and project development.

This course is designed for non-accountants to understand and appreciate the role and function of management accounting information. The main emphasis is to provide managerial executives with the necessary understanding of fundamental management accounting concepts and tools that will improve problem-solving skills. Students should be able to apply critical thinking skills in unstructured settings.

This course examines the managerial role in strategic corporate communications practice. Students increase their understanding of key dimensions in corporate communications, including marketing, professional ethics, concepts of excellence, strategic planning, media relations, corporate responsibilities, corporate identities, brand management, crisis management and the application of new media in managing corporate communication. A variety of teaching/learning approachescase studies, team projects, student presentations, readings, online learning and lectures are used to enhance understanding and increase student responsibility for learning. Using case studies the program explores: best practices in corporate communications planning and strategy, media relations, new media, brand management, corporate and social responsibilities and current trends.

The course will provide exposure, understanding and training on balanced organization with the external pressure through various corporate strategies. This will be integrated with the function involving implementation and strategic control. Strategic management process deals with 3 main levels, they are, formulation/understanding level, implementation, evaluation and strategic control. Such exposure enables students to understand, internalize and thus contribute to the organization strategic management process.

The course will provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop and carry out a research. In particular, Online Journalism Research aims at teaching students on how it happens and then equips the students with expert tips on analyzing the online media encounter in journalist daily life. Reflecting the latest developments from the field, this course delivers a comprehensive overview of online journalism research and a thorough exploration of each major approach including qualitative research, content analysis, survey research, and experimental research. It also fully integrates social media coverage, and the impact of merging technology. Additionally, methods for data collection and analysis are included. The course also discusses the preparations involved in writing a research report.

This course provides training in qualitative data analysis on a practical level. Students will comprehend the fundamentals of qualitative data analysis, investigate the different interpretive analytic methodologies, examine their application, and apply them to data. Significant opportunities will abound to analyze qualitative data manually or with computer-assisted qualitative data analysis software (CAQDAS).

The issues of career education, adolescents and children, productivity and motivation, stress, sexual harassment, leadership, psychological disorders, depression, unemployment health and performance as well as the disabled and elderly are the issues that individuals face in the context of today's career.
