A233 SSWA5213 KUMP A CRISIS INTERVENTION AND DISASTER MANAGEMENT
This course focuses on the strategies and techniques in crisis intervention. Students also have the opportunity to understand the concept of crisis intervention from a variety of perspectives and a variety of human crises and natural disasters. Social work intervention on how to handle people who are in crisis and natural disasters will be discussed. It includes post-traumatic syndrome disorder (PTSD), suicide, addiction, family violence, rape, bereavement, violence in institutions, 'burn-out' and natural disasters. Emergency assistance from the psychosocial perspective becomes the focus of the course.
