This course introduces the field of human personality based on some theories of personality famous psychological experts. Theories that will be studied are the psychodynamic theories, trait theories, learning theories, behavioural theories and humanistic theories. Some forms of personality disorders and personality assessments will be introduced to the human personality objectively and subjectively.

This course is an advanced course on social psychology. The course explores the principles and forms of human social behavior and its application in understanding daily human behaviors. The approach of the course focuses on various social psychological processes underlying broad human behaviors.

The course exposes students to various opportunities offered by social media as cutting-edge technology that can be leveraged to its maximum potential if it is used in the right way. Alongside its potential, lies possible risks that require further understanding that can jeopardize security and privacy aspects. Thus, through this course, possible countermeasures will also be discussed in terms of managing social media risks and challenges. Policies, laws and regulations will also be part of the discussion with the aim to safeguard digital assets, copyright and reputation.

This course provides students with analytical and practical skills to plan, develop, and manage, cybersecurity-related projects through hands-on, project management and development, and research activities. Students will be able to prepare a project proposal, article, and report. The purpose of the course is to guide students in applying the concepts and techniques of research methodology, project management and development activities, software tools, and techniques in analysing and interpreting data that can greatly enhance their computing and cybersecurity-related skills.

The course will provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop and carry out a research. In particular, the course aims at teaching students about research design, strategies, methods, and process. The important steps in planning a research project, such as problem identification and formulation of the research question, developing the study objective, reviewing related literature and formulating a model will also be covered. Additionally, methods for data collection and analysis are included. The course also discusses the preparations involved in writing a research proposal.

This course covers the theory and practice of systems analysis and design. The complete analysis life cycle is covered in lectures and practiced in assignments. Output from the systems analysis will be used to illustrate the main stages of systems design. Extensive use of case studies will be made to facilitate the application of the techniques learnt. Computer Assisted Software Engineering tool will be used to support the analysis and design tasks. Specifically the following areas are covered: Strategic project selection, specification, detailed process and data analysis, determining the requirements of the proposed system, human computer boundary and interface design, process design, verification and implementation of computer systems.

This course addresses the problem of how to improve the quality of interaction between an individual and a computer. HCI rules and guidelines are offered in this course to be utilised but often provide no right answer or best solution. This is true for design problems, which require making trade-offs. As a rapidly changing field, not all core knowledge of HCI is applicable under all situations, but as much as possible this course exposes students to the contemporary needs of HCI, interface and interaction design in a system, the importance of HCI, its metrics, human diversity and how it affect interface design, related theories in HCI that help users perception, memory and cognition. The last part of the course concentrates on interaction styles and techniques and characteristics designed on different platform, evaluating them, and using them on various devices.
