A232 SSYP3133 KUMP A TESTING AND ASSESSMENT IN COUNSELING
This course will discuss a wide range of topics under the field of psychological testing and assessment in counselling. It covers topics on the history of testing, the objectives, and the application of counselling assessments. Students will be introduced to psychometric components, validity, and reliability in testing, test norms, and standard and non-standard test in Malaysia as compared to the West. Students will be explained with ethical considerations in conducting, evaluating, and interpreting the psychological testing in Malaysian settings. In addition, this course will explain the current issues in psychological testing including the topics of social and cultural issues as well as the moral and professional issues in counselling assessment.
