This internship is a component of the Teaching Practicum program which is compulsory for teacher trainees in the fourth semester of their studies. Students will stay in the selected organisation for 4 weeks during the semester break after their final examination. Students have to undergo this course prior to the Teaching Practicum 1 and 2 which aims to ensure that they obtain and master the minimum level of knowledge and administration skill before they enter school for their teaching practice. In addition, in this industry internship program, commendable values and attitude suitable for future workforce are hoped be inculcated and developed.

Teaching Practicum 1 is the core course in teacher education. It runs for eight weeks. Students (teacher trainees) will teach their minor subject. Continuous guidance will be given by the school teachers and also by their supervisor so as to enhance their knowledge and increase the teaching and learning performance in and out the classroom. Therefore, students will experience the real situation as an excellent and effective teachers.

This course provides a broader overview of cognitive, psychosocial, and moral development of adolescent, multiple traditions of human learning, memory, motivation, and individual differences in learning. The course also focuses on design of instruction, classroom management, and assessment concerning these theories and principles.

The course aims to provide students with sufficient theoretical background and prepare them to apply the principles of measurement and evaluation in both education and psychology fields. It will equip the students with the knowledge and skills that are necessary for the development of valid evaluation measures and competencies that are required for a proper interpretation of teacher-made and standardized tests. The course will cover topics such as test construction; elementary statistical concepts; reliability and validity; assessment of educational and psychological constructs; and interpretation and reporting of test results.

This course covers the fundamental concepts, leading theories and frameworks of holistic student development (HSD); the transition-linked turning points in their growth and development; and the HSD support system and the corresponding services rendered by the entire academic community. With a full grasp of the varying conditions and challenges faced by contemporary learners, you are led to explore and revolutionize current student development undertakings into high impact educational practices for the optimization of learners interests, talents and potentials.

This course is designed to serve as a culminating experience in which you apply the teaching and learning strategies examined in the previous courses through reflective observation and practice in the higher education classroom. You will observe classroom instruction and provide written analysis (reflective observations). You will also plan and teach a few lessons in your discipline to gain the practical experience necessary to effectively reflect, evaluate and improve upon your teaching style and methods. Additionally, you will complete your professional teaching portfolio which you have been building throughout the program by adding the reflective observations, instructional plans and self-reflections on your own teaching.

This course exposes students to the underlying concepts and techniques of cryptography for cybersecurity environment. It provides an extensive coverage on the techniques for performing encryption and decryption processes of cryptography domain. Classical ciphers will be first introduced followed by modern techniques. The course also covers on cryptanalysis and other attacks using cryptography to cybersecurity environment. Key management, public and symmetric key encryptions are among the topics discussed in this course together with their current algorithms. The course also deals with message authentication and digital signatures for authentication. The course concludes with issues related to cryptography concept on cybersecurity environment.

Data analytics introduces the basics of data science and data analytics for handling of massive databases. The course covers concepts data mining for big data analytics, and introduces the practicalities of map-reduce while adopting the big data management life cycle. This course also provides prominent algorithms used to mine data (e.g., clustering and association rule mining), and statistical modeling (e.g., linear and nonlinear regression). The course is targeted towards individuals who would like to know the practices used and the potential use of large scale data analytics. The objective of this course is to ascertain that the students know the fundamental techniques and tools used to design and analyze large volumes of data.

The Interaction systems and tools course is a blend of human-computer interaction and user interface design. The course highlights the needs of an ideal computer system which includes several aspects such as interaction design, human-computer interaction, information design, web design and ubiquitous computing. Much of the learning skills in this course seek to improve human- computer interaction by improving the usability of computer interfaces. In addition, the knowledge on designing and developing a user oriented interaction system is gained by using some application and design tools.
