This course introduces students to current scenario on research in instructional technology. It discusses the past, current and emerging trends and challenges in research in the field of educational/instructional technology. Contemporary aims and methodologies of research in this field will be discussed as well as contemporary and emerging areas of research. Students will share research articles in the field by doing analysis regarding their methodologies and findings and discussing their implications to the real world of education.

This course focuses on the co-curriculum concept; various types of co-curricular activities and their objectives; planning, implementation and evaluation of co-curricular activities ; and participation in co-curricular activities, sports, uniformed teams and associations in schools.

This course discusses the nature and essential theories of educational leadership. It emphasizes on the leadership styles and leaders, emotional intelligence, leadership competencies and Islamic leadership at the school level. Various functions processes of an educational leader in decision-making, motivation, communication, organizational change, managing anger and stress will also be emphasized. Students are required to describes each of the leadership style and their characteristic, functions of an emotional response, understanding ones emotional strengths and weaknesses along with profile of leaders from all walks of life related to power influence and essential leadership qualities of principals. The new paradigm for educational leadership will also be discussed

This course examines how to manage human resources in educational context for the enhancement of teacher wellbeing and performance, and overall school and effectiveness. The course content covers important aspects of human resource functions which includes human resource planning, development and environment conceptions and theoretical underpinnings. Issues, policies, practices and scholarly work in the human resource management from the local and international perspectives are examined to provide broad exploration of the topics.

The aim of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the legal aspects pertaining to educational management particularly in Malaysia. Students are required to analyze certain provisions under the Education Act 1996, discuss selected rules; regulations and the penalties adhered to the provision of the education act and regulations It focuses on the rules, procedures and the legal aspects in relation to conduct and discipline at school management. Issues related to law of tort and negligence of teachers would be discussed based on court cases and current issues. The law of natural justice and procedure to take action on students discipline will also be discussed based on Malaysian education regulations and court cases. Students are required to propose action plan to implement the safe school concept and legal risk management at school to avoid teachers from being sued in court. Students are also required to understand and analyze teachers code of ethic and provision in the Public Service (Conduct and Discipline) Regulations, 1993 (Amendment 2002) in order to be a highly professional and ethical teacher.

This course is designed to provide a comprehensive coverage of quality management. Emphasis will be placed on both theory and implementation of quality management. The quality concepts, quality theories, quality control, quality assurance, ISO 9000, and total quality management will be the focus of this course. Analyses of quality practices in non-educational sectors will also be discussed to provide deeper understanding of quality management in education.

This course gives students exposure on the new curriculum of moral education introduced in Malaysia. This course will also examine the history of the development of moral education in Malaysia and highlight the basic concepts of teaching moral education in schools. In addition, the course also discusses the curriculum principles of moral education in detail based on moral values in everyday life. Teacher trainees who are in this course will be able to use the concept of teaching moral education to students at school more effectively.

Kursus ini mengandungi konsep-konsep moral and etika dan bagaimana ianya berkait dengan Pendidikan. Dalam kursus ini, konsep moral dan etika dipelajari dari tokoh-tokoh dari berbagai fahaman dan agama. Dengan demikian pelajar dapat mengetahui konsep moral dan etika dari perpektif yang berbeza dan seterusnya mengetahui bagaimana moral dan etika dihasilkan. Kursus ini juga membolehkan para pelajar menghayati dan menilai moral dan etika yang positif dan negatif. Dan akhirnya pelajar dapat menentukan moral dan etika yang harus diaplikasikan dalam pengajaran dan tugasan harian.

This course exposes students to several theories of moral and character development from various moral psychological aspects. Focus is given to perspectives in the aspect of cognitive development, behaviorist/learning, personality, constructivist and integrative. Discussion will also include factors such as socio-economic background, household, environment, beliefs, gender and level of intelligence. The implication of these theories on moral education will also be discussed.
