Practicum is an off-campus experiential learning activity designed to allow students to make connections between the theory and practice of academic study and the practical application of that study in a professional work environment. The sixteen (16) weeks attachment with the selected organization offers the opportunity for the student to try out a career while gaining relevant experience and professional connections. Practicum is completed under the guidance of an on-site supervisor and an appointed university supervisor, who in combination with the student will create a framework for learning and reflection. Upon completion, the student must submit a written report based on the guidelines set up by the Media Technology Programme.

This course exposes student with the overview of the history, evolution and impact of interactive media. Students will understand the varied creative, technical, and collaborative skills needed in this exciting and emerging field. At the end of this course, students have to understand that these technologies is growing and evolving which covers not only limited to websites, mobile apps, kiosks, games, VR/AR or other related devices.

The psychology of learning course will provide the student with a strong grounding in educational psychology and applying psychological theories and principles to the context of education. Educational psychology is a broad field that draws upon multiple perspectives to help explain and understand human functioning and behavior. This course will allow the student to explore psychology's core areas, specifically in relation to education, including biological, cognitive, social, and developmental psychology. It will also encourage the student to consider the importance of knowledge of individual differences and how to develop human motivation. The application of the theories provides opportunities to experience how these developmental dan learning theories impact teaching and learning processes. This course provides useful information to the future teacher to apply psychological theories to create effective teaching and meaningful learning experience.

This course covers topics such as development of the sociology of education field, approaches and theories in sociology of education. Other topics included are school as an organisation in society, school culture, socialization, parental involvement, effective school, multicultural education and rural education.

This course will expose students to the concepts, theories and models as well as the importance of technology education. Students are also able to identify the strengths and weaknesses of a particular teaching aid. These skills enable students to select or develop appropriate teaching aids effectively. Students will also be exposed to issues and challenges and advances in technology education to ensure that students are always alert with the latest developments.

This course gives focus on the concept of co-curriculum; the various types of activities and their objectives; planning, implementation and assessment of co-curricular activities in schools; involvement in co-curricular activities such as sports, uniform units and clubs and societies.

This course introduces students to key aspects of ESL reading theory and pedagogy to help them develop competencies in the teaching of reading to English language learners at the secondary school level. Students will examine topics such as reading skills, processes and models, techniques of teaching reading, and materials selection. They will design and present specific activities to facilitate the acquisition of reading skills, as well as develop appropriate lesson plans.

This seminar will discuss important areas related to the English Language Teaching (ELT) practitioner such as teacher training, types of systems of schooling (private vs. public), management of ELT, status of English, status of teachers, and native versus non-native teachers of English. The main aim of this student-led seminar will be to allow students to reflect on their professional experiences in general and on one aspect of their experience in depth. Students will decide on topics of relevance to them with the view of the audience, which is the MEd ELT group as a whole. Initially, students will be encouraged to form small groups and explain certain aspects of their teaching/professional contexts to each other, guided by staff. For the main part of the course, students will form loose groups working on similar issues and a timetable of presentations (conference style, controlled timing) to the whole group will be drawn up. This seminar will be a venue for students to discuss issues which are of importance to them and the ELT profession.
