Public International Law is a subject which considers the law that regulates the relations of its member states. At introductory level, students will be exposed to the knowledge of how international law has been accepted as law and of its development. This followed by a detailed discussion on the sources of international law and the conflict between the international law and municipal law. Further discussion will be focused on the principle of legal personality of the subjects of the international law, title of territory, state jurisdiction, the law of the sea and state responsibility. The course will also include the topics on the law of treaties, the use of force by states, international disputes settlements, international environmental law and law of United Nations.

The course begins with the introduction part which discusses the concept of Islamic banking and financial business under the Islamic law and followed by an overview on the implementation of Islamic banking and financial business in Malaysia. The discussion focusses on the sources and Shariah principle applicable in Islamic banking and finance. This course also discusses the Shariah contract used in Islamic banking and finance transactions. Apart from these, the course also touches on the Takaful business which forms part of Islamic financial business in Malaysia under the supervision of Bank Negara Malaysia. Further, the discussion emphasises the legal framework of Islamic banking and finance. The discussion seeks to analyse the legislations governing Islamic banking and financial business. In addition discussion entails on the Shariah compliance framework which that deals with Shariah advisory framework and the position of fatwa. Finally, the course ends with the discussion on the dispute resolution mechanisms in Islamic banking and finance.

This course emphasises on the practical legal research and legal documentation skills in preparing conveyancing documentations and its process. The conveyancing documentations involve the areas of property transaction, loan agreement transactions and company secretarial practices and related corporate matters. This course will also expose students to the appropriate legal resources and practical conveyancing legal skills in drafting and preparing the conveyancing brief and conveyancing documentations.

This course aims to provide students with basic skills in writing legal opinion necessary for a successful practice of an advocate and solicitor. The students will discuss the importance of language (English and Bahasa Malaysia) in a legal opinion, especially the correct jargon and terminologies used in legal written communication between solicitor and client. The course would also explore the fundamentals of a legal opinion, the management of facts and the use of law in a legal opinion. Sample cases in contract, tort, land, criminal and company will be provided and discussed in detail.

This course is divided in two parts - Part A discusses litigation, and Part B discusses mooting. This course is designed to provide students with opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills in topics and issues related to litigation and mooting. The course will equip students to understand and apply the basic constituent elements of effective analysis of a legal problem, using a structured methodology of identification of the issues and use of legal argumentation to resolve them. Additionally, the course will also help students in advancing legal arguments before a Court - both in written and oral form.

This course aims to expose students to the basic and the scope of public administration in Malaysia. The course will introduce the theories, models and concepts relating to the field of public administration in particular those being adopted and practiced abroad. Public administration is closely related to other disciplines such as political science, economics and management. Thus, this course will also introduce several approaches in the study of other knowledge in relation to public administration. In addition, the process and political system, the structure and function of the institutions of government will be examined. The relationship between the government under the framework of federalism of Malaysia is important in laying the basic structure of public administration in Malaysia and this concept will also be discussed.

The main gist of politics and administration is Politics decides and administration does". This simplest statement is however patterned with dynamic and complex relationship between politics and administration. The relationship between the two must be recognised and acknowledged since they have significant implication for public administration and management disciplinary identity and on the governance of a country. Hence, this course structured the discussion of politics and administration on three main sections. First section aims at introducing student to the concepts, perspectives and theories that explains the relationship between politics and administration. The second section aims to describe the relationship of both variables from political perspective. The third section aims at discussing the relationship of both variables from the administrative perspective.
