This is one of the compulsory courses for students in International Affairs Management undergraduate programme. This course aims at exposing the students to International law that is very broad in nature, covering all aspects of human life. Numerous agreements have been signed by states beyond their borders encompassing the land, sea and space in various economic, political and social aspects. This course is necessary for students to effectively understand the international system. The International Law course also covers all aspects of International Law including its definition, history of development, subjects, sources, jurisdiction, state responsibilities, diplomacy, conflict resolution and others.

As we approach the new millennium, rapid changes in international business has accelerated the pace of maritime transport as a major distributor in import export activities. Facing this challenge and to improve service quality, many scopes and perspective are now being discussed to influence and determine the role of shipping in the market globalisation. Instead of the transportation mode itself, other aspects are important as well, especially in the development of sophisticated ports worldwide. In general, this course is designed to provide general knowledge about the importance of sea transportation not only to Multinational Companies/ Enterprises (MNC/Es) who are proactively involved in international businesses but also to a countrys economy, governments policies, maritime organisation, environment and finally the technology

This course will familiarise students with the direction, orientation and substance of Malaysia's Foreign Policy since independence till present times. This course will deal with the Foreign Policies initiated by the various Prime Ministers of Malaysia beginning with the late Tunku Abdul Rahman until Dato' Seri Najib. The course will begin by discussing some basic concepts of Malaysian Foreign Policy and will then proceed to study and analyze the evolution, formulation and conduct of the nation's Foreign Policy from 1957 till to date. Malaysia's role and importance in the International Arena will also be discussed.

This course exposes to the history, politics and government of Southeast Asia. It focuses on the historical background, political system and current issues in Southeast Asia. It shall further analyse the effectiveness of state and government in Southeast Asian countries. This course also compares political systems and governments and their likely changes from authoritarian to democracy in Southeast Asia states. Their discussion uses the multi-disciplinary approach especially in the aspects of politics, economy and social that shall be based on the context of politics in the region.

This course mainly emphasize on the introductory knowledge of diplomacy in which special attention will be given on its basic concept in order to have complete understanding in this subject. Student will learn about the role of diplomacy in the relations among people and states. This is meant to expose the students on the method of foreign policy decision-making using diplomatic tools as an effective mechanism. This course is designed as survey of some of important issues faced in diplomacy notably on issues involves Malaysia. Thus, it is intended to offer an introduction to the field and serve as basis for further course on diplomacy.
