The course is designed to prepare and equip students with the competencies required to become competent and efficient organizational trainers. A professional trainer must be prepared and able to undertake various roles and responsibilities that come with the job. Students will be applying the concepts, functions, processes and strategies related to training, as well as the learning theories, in managing the training process.

This course aims to identify the roles of the main actors in industrial relations, understand the contextual factors impacting upon industrial relations, comprehend the industrial relations practices and related statutory provisions and identify future developments.

This is not only due to moral obligations by the employers, but more importantly, of legal implications and serious economic impacts when ones place is becoming accident-prone organization. This course deals with concepts, policy and practices of creating a safe and healthy working environment. Despite that it would also examine some specific legal provisions, particularly the Occupational Safety & Health Act 1994, which outlines rules & procedures for managing and handling of safety & health issues at work place.

Beginning with the roles and functions of a commercial bank and the regulatory environment in which it operates, students will then learn legal issues that underline the banker-customer relationship. Students can expect to gain a solid understanding on various products and services such as deposits, bill of exchange, cheque, remittances, trade finance and different kids of credit facilities. Selective discussion on a few operating units of a commercial bank is included to demonstrate how their interplays are critical for efficient and profitable delivery of banking products, services and facilities. Concluding topics on electronic banking and current issues and challenges affecting banking industry would further enhance understanding on the realities of a commercial bank operation.

This course will discuss the financial institutions' roles as a financial intermediary in providing loan services. The students will be exposed to the basic concepts, principles, and loan policies in bank management. This course will also cover other topics such as loan pricing, lending process, loan products and computation of loan repayments, analysis of risks using qualitative and quantitative analysis, security for loans, restructuring of loans, lending rationale, loan agreement, managing problem loans, and others. Besides that, current issues on the lending; conventional and Islamic financing, will also be discussed.

This course will also cover topics such as basic marketing concept, bank marketing strategies, bank products, consumer behavior and attitudes, market segmentation and others. The emphasis is on the practical application of principles, concepts and tools of marketing management.
