This course will provide exposure to the theory and monetary policy. Among the topics discussed are the traditional and the modern monetary theory, financial linkages with macroeconomic activities, administration and management of monetary policy, monetary policy rules and discretion, the transmission mechanism, the implications of rational expectations to monetary policy and empirical studies in developing countries.
