This course introduces students to human resource management. It emphasizes functions of human resource management and their importance to organizations. It highlights the role of a human resource manager in managing strategically human resources in an organization to develop and maintain its competitive advantage in the global marketplace. In addition, this course explores and discusses current issues in human resource management in Malaysia.
PE222 BWFF2033 KUMP A FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
This introductory course to financial management provides the students with the theoretical, conceptual and practical aspects of financial management. Specifically, it focuses on short-term financial management and the financial instruments used in financial decision-making. Overall, this course covers short-term financing and current asset management which includes cash, marketable securities, accounts receivable and inventories. The financial concepts and tools to be discussed in this course are financial statement analysis, risk and return, and time value of money.

PE222 SADN1033 KUMP A MALAYSIAN NATIONHOOD STUDIES
Malaysian Nationhood Studies is the core university course and a required for all University Utara Malaysia's academic programs. It is specifically designed to provide an input to the students about the history, continuity and change that occurs during the Malaysian nation building process. The historical elements formed the foundation of this course reflecting the fundamentals and evolutions of Malay civilization which is basis of Malaysia's political, economic and social system in the modern days. This course intends to mold a student who is more sensitive to the nation's past and more patriotic. While they are being open-minded to new changes, knowledgeable graduates, critical, capable of observing and mastering the contemporary issues of Malaysia.

PE222 STID1103 KUMP A COMPUTER APPLICATION IN MANAGEMENT
This is an introductory course targeting to create awareness on various popular computer applications which are being used in organizations. Application such as accounting management, communications, and project management will be covered in this course. In addition, students will also be exposed to proper method of report writing, data gathering and compilation, as well as database management. The students will also be exposed to the methods in converting data to charts and graphs, preparing presentations, and presenting data. Besides using Internet applications, the students are required to build and maintain simple web pages.
PE222 VKMB1021 KUMP A COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT II
This course will introduce the students to the concept and method of community service. Basic knowledge in term of theory and practice on how to conduct a service community program to ensure the students can implement it effectively. At this level, students will be trained to draft a proposal to conduct a project for next semester.
